Like a leaf falling

The days get shorter, darker, colder. The trees turn inward. Their leaves glow in a rainbow of gold and orange and red. Life is slowing and loosening its grip. Each leaf clings no more, released in a free fall, floating with the whim of the wind, arriving to the ground in puddle, to fertilize the source.

I am like a tree and her leaves falling.

  1. I’ve been at the learning center in October – spme 20 years ago – beautiful color palette 🎃
This said, there is also something nostalgic about this time of year.
I recall from a business trip to Japan – 1988-ish, where I managed to spend a weekend in Kyoto, that at the Emperors castle, there were no trees in the garden – the reason being that the dying leaves falling from the trees placed the samourays is a state of utter sadness.
